Our review process for every hotel listed on SHA Thailand.

1. SHA certification check

We verify the hotel is listed in the official Tourism Authority of Thailand SHA database before we write a single word. The badge tier (SHA, SHA Plus, or SHA Extra Plus) is recorded as it appears on TAT.

2. Agoda rating gate

The hotel must have 8.0 or higher on Agoda with at least 500 reviews. We do not list hotels under this threshold, regardless of how good the marketing looks.

3. Booking.com cross-check

We pull the current Booking.com score and review count. We also read the top 10 recent guest reviews on both platforms to catch recurring complaints.

4. Thailand climate weighting

We check for strong AC, pool shade, proper room insulation, and rain-ready outdoor spaces. Thai heat and monsoon weather are real — a gorgeous rooftop pool with no shade at 2pm is not a real amenity.

5. Price tier classification

Every hotel is flagged as budget (under 2,000 THB), mid-range (2,000–6,000 THB), or luxury (6,000 THB plus) per night for a standard double room.

6. Affiliate CTA placement

Every hotel we list gets an Agoda or Booking.com link. No exceptions. That is how we fund this site and how we stay honest — if we cannot recommend it, we do not list it.
