I run the hotel desk at SHA Thailand. I have been reviewing Thai hotels for nine years, first as a freelance writer for a Singapore travel magazine, then on my own. I am based in Bangkok and I work out of a small co-working space off Thonglor Soi 13. I have stayed in 84 SHA-certified hotels for our reviews, from beach bungalows in Khao Lak to suites at the Mandarin Oriental. I do not accept hosted stays unless we disclose them at the bottom of the article, and I do not write a verdict on a property I have not slept in for at least one night. I verify SHA tier, room category, current Agoda rating, and at least one named guest complaint before I publish.
