It is a beachfront Lanna style resort in Bophut on the north coast, a short walk from Fisherman’s Village and its Friday night market.
You are not getting Four Seasons villa privacy at this rate, and it helps to know that going in. Anantara Bophut is a mid scale resort. The rooms sit closer together, the beach narrows at high tide, and the Bophut shore shelves shallow and turns weedy during the low season swell. What it offers instead is a genuine on screen location, a walkable village with bars and seafood, and a rate that leaves budget for the rest of the trip.

Mai Khao trades nightlife and dining variety for calm. It sits around 40 minutes north of Patong and old town Phuket. The beach faces a strong undertow that closes swimming for stretches of the May to October monsoon. The pool villas also carry a clear premium over the entry suites. For a traveler who wants the airport side of Phuket and quiet over crowds, that trade reads as a feature.
Rosewood Phuket hosted the dinner scenes the Four Seasons restaurant was too dark to shoot at night. It is a hillside of 71 villas above a private cove near Patong that opened in 2019, a contemporary resort from roughly $500 a night with a faster run into Patong than Mai Khao. The frictions echo the Four Seasons. It is a steep property that relies on buggies, and the cove beach is small and crowds at midday.
